MyEducator Assignment Tasks Do Not Respond on an Apple Mac
Symptom:
When I open a MyEducator Microsoft Office Word document, PowerPoint file, or Excel spreadsheet on a Mac and access the Assignments tab, the Assignment Instructions and/or Task Guide buttons are missing or do not respond to clicks, even after enabling macros.
Note: The Assignments tab is not initially listed until macros have been enabled.
Cause:
This may be caused by macros not being enabled through Office Preferences.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue, please perform one or both of the following:
Enable VBA Object Module
  1. Open the Office document
  2. Click Word, PowerPoint, or Excel in the upper-left of the screen, next to the Apple logo
  3. Click Preferences
  4. Click Security
  5. Check the VBA Object Module checkbox
  6. Close the Preferences window
  7. Confirm the links work under the Assignments tab
Note: Close and then reopen the Office file, if needed.
Enable Macros
  1. Open the Office document
  2. Click Word, PowerPoint, or Excel in the upper-left of the screen, next to the Apple logo
  3. Click Preferences
  4. Click Security
  5. Select the Enable all macros radio button
Note: This will allow ALL macros, both good and bad, to run without any further warning. Only choose this setting if you're certain that you won't be opening any malicious or dangerous files.
  6. Close the Preferences window
  7. Confirm the links work under the Assignments tab
Note: Close and then reopen the Office file, if needed.
